A Korean travel agency established a branch office in Shizuoka City, October 20, 2008.　

October 20, 2008 (Monday)　The Korean travel agency "Hikari Tour" (head office located in Fukuoka) placed an office near the JR Shizuoka station (located at Konya-machi Aoi-ku Shizuoka-shi, managed by Mr. Shin Jeong-Min).

Hikari Tour works as an escort and develops new travel package plans for Korean travelers on the current three bases in Tokyo, Osaka, Naha, and the office in Shizuoka will be the fourth one in Japan.

Shizuoka Prefecture strives to invite tourists from Korea to Shizuoka through the Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport scheduled to be open in March, 2009, while Asiana Airlines has already placed a branch office in Shizuoka. Many other Korean travel agencies pay an enthusiastic attention to Shizuoka to catch up with such forerunners, thus the exchange of two countries is expected to be more active than ever on the occasion of startup of the new airport.
